Juneteenth

The Juneteenth flag is a red, white, and blue flag designed by Ben Haith in 1997, featuring a white five-pointed star, a white nova-shaped burst around the star, and an arc through the center. The red, white, and blue colors symbolize that formerly enslaved people and their descendants are Americans, the star represents Texas and freedom in all 50 states, the bursting nova signifies a new beginning, and the arc represents a new horizon of opportunity. The date "June 19, 1865" was added in 2007 to commemorate the historic day of emancipation.
